BROSSARD - South Shore police are investigating what appears to be an attempted murder-suicide which left a man dead and a woman injured Saturday night in Brossard.
According to unconfirmed reports, both were officers of the SQ, Quebec's provincial police force.
At 10:30 p.m. neighbours heard a shouting following by gunshots and rang 911.
Police rushed to the condo building at 9035 le Corbusier in Brossard and found a woman, said to be in her 30s, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to her lower body.
Nearby, a man lay on the ground. He too had been hurt by a gunfire but in his case, the wound was fatal.
He is thought to be in his 40s but authorities have been tight-lipped concerning the identities of both.
The man was pronounced dead soon after and the woman was rushed to hospital. She is expected to survive.
