Catherine Sherriffs, late night news anchor for CTV Montreal
Catherine Sherriffs
Late Night Anchor
Catherine Sherriffs knew she wanted to be a reporter from a very young age. She wrote for the school papers at both the elementary and high school levels.
While growing up in the Laurentian community of Morin Heights Sherriffs remembers creating news reports with a camcorder during the 1998 ice storm.
She hated math then, and still does, but was always a strong writer. When it came time to decide on a career path, she chose journalism and never looked back.
Sherriffs' career took off while finishing her final semester in Concordia University's journalism program.

She was interning at CJAD 800 when an overnight newscaster quit. Sherriffs was offered the job and spent nearly two years reporting and anchoring at the talk radio station before being promoted to morning news anchor at Virgin Radio.
In addition to working the local radio scene, Sherriffs began doing some freelance work for Global Montreal.
A year later, she got the call to come over to CTV Montreal. She spent two years reporting before being promoted to the Late Night news anchor. Her reporting skills are still put to use in the flagship newscast at 6 p.m.
While she loves the city of Montreal, Sherriffs is a country girl at heart and loves escaping for time away in the Laurentians.
She is an animal-lover and a proud "mama" right now to two dogs, a mini schnauzer and a cocker spaniel.
She loves to travel – especially to hot spots during the winter. If she's not working on a beautiful day, you can find her somewhere along the Lachine canal.
