LONGUEUIL, Quebec - Six men, aged between 23 and 28, and one woman, aged 25, were arrested by 40 police officers in Old Longueuil in an early-morning drug raid that took place from about 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

The main point of sale was located in an apartment building at 2040 Daniel, which is near a park, pool and daycare. Police also descended upon 990 St-Georges.

Police say that those arrested were connected to street gangs and were dealing cocaine in the form of both powder and crack. Those arrested include the alleged ringleader, according to police.

Cash and drugs were seized by the agents from the Monteregie street gang task force, the tactical arm of the provincial police and the Longueuil SWAT force.

Canadian cash money was seized, as were drugs, but the authorities have not yet reported in what quantities.
