MONTREAL - An 18-year-old man is being charged with second-degree murder after the fatal stabbing of a teenager in St. Leonard late Saturday night.

A 19-year-old man was stabbed to death after a tussle in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant on Viau Blvd. at Jean Talon St. at 10:50 p.m.

"The main victim fell on the ground - and the other one stayed with his friend while the two suspects left the scene. We're talking about two people who attacked two other ones," said Montreal police Const. Raphael Bergeron. "What started the fight still has to be determined by the investigator."

The man was transported to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Initially a 20-year-old was arrested along with the 18-year-old but he was released without charges.

This is the 21st homicide of the year in Montreal.
