The Parti Quebecois attacked the Quebec Liberal youth wing Friday for what is said was an attempt to send Quebec back to Canadian-style multiculturalism.

Multiculturalism – now being questioned in much of Europe - has found a following in the Youth Wing of the Quebec Liberal party, complained Carole Poirier, spokesperson for the Parti Quebec in matters of secularism.

The young Liberals, meeting at a conference in Lennoxville, are backing open secularism and don't see the need to ban the wearing of religions symbols in the public service.

Instead, the Liberals are proposing the creation of a Quebec office of intercultural harmony.

According to the MNA from Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, the decision is troubling and threatens to undermine Quebec values.
