MONTREAL - A spokeswoman for engineering giant SNC-Lavalin says it's fully co-operating with a police investigation involving the company.

Leslie Quinton says the Montreal-based firm isn't aware of any reason for an investigation.

But she says in an email that the company has a zero tolerance policy towards any kind of unethical behaviour.

The RCMP confirmed it raided the company's offices near Toronto this week in connection with a corruption probe into a bridge project in Bangladesh.

RCMP spokeswoman Const. Julie Morel says the force conducted a search on Thursday to gather evidence for an ongoing investigation involving employees at the company.

She says no charges have been laid in the case.

The World Bank is investigating allegations of corruption in the bidding processes for the Padma Bridge Project.

The agency signed a deal in April to lend $1.2 billion to Bangladesh to build the bridge over the river Padma, but it says the money has not been doled out.
