NEW YORK - The FBI says three people detained after a flight landed in Detroit on the anniversary of 9-11 did nothing wrong.

Fighter jets escorted the Frontier Airlines plane after the crew reported two people had spent too much time in the bathroom. But in a statement Monday, the FBI says there never were two people in the bathroom at the same time. The FBI says a man who was not feeling well went to the bathroom and another man followed.

The FBI says the third person detained was a woman who had remained in her seat. None of the three knew each other.

Fighter jets on Sunday also escorted an American Airlines flight to New York from Los Angeles. Three people who made repeated trips to the bathroom were cleared.
