St. Jean sur Richelieu police have arrested a man accused of stabbing and killing his mother's boyfriend.

On Monday night an Otterburn Park man called 9-1-1 saying he had been stabbed in the neck.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries, but before passing away he told police he had been attacked by his girlfriend's son.

Police arrested the 31-year-old man near where the attack took place, and he is expected to appear in a St. Hyacinthe courtroom on Tuesday to face murder charges.

The victim was 46 years old.


Shot to death in Repentigny

Meanwhile police are using sniffer dogs to examine a murder scene next to a bike path in Repentigny.

People who live near the intersection of Bourg-Neuf and J.A. Pare Blvds. called 9-1-1 Monday night to say they heard a pair of gunshots.

Police arrived around 8:30 p.m. to find the body of a 44-year-old man lying in a parking lot.

Repentigny police are looking for witnesses to the crime, and in addition to setting up a large security perimeter in their hunt for clues, also brought in the Surete du Quebec to assist in the case.

The dead man was known to police,
