MONTREAL - Christmas is a month away which has many parents thinking about what to get their children.

But as everyone knows there are some toys which stand the test of time, and some that are less interesting than the box they come in.

What's Up Families magazine recently reviewed a number of toys, some good, some bad, and Reyne Rice came to the CTV Montreal studios to discuss what they found.

Top Toys for Christmas

  • Fijit Friend (toy robot) "She likes to tell jokes, she'll dance with you, she'll play with you. She has 30 different key phrases she'll respond to."
  • Rubiks Race (board game)
  • Game Changer (Game Board for iPad)
  • Hex Bug Nano Bridge Battle Set "These Hex bugs are great... they walk just like spiders."
  • Crafting Fun Box "It's an opportunity for kids to get together," said Rice. "We know that kids love to make things as gifts."
  • E-200 Razor Electric Scooter "Charge it at night for 8 hours and the next day you can ride for up to 45 minutes."

Toy Giveaway

CTV Montreal and What's Up Families teamed up to give away some of the toys demonstrated in the on-air segment, plus a few others, on a first-come, first-served basis.

All the toys are now accounted for.

Thank you for taking part, and thank you for the kind messages.

Recipients will be informed promptly, and will have to pick up the toy at the CTV Montreal offices.
