One year ago Wednesday the Harper government won its first majority.
At the same time the NDP swept into opposition with a stunning Orange Wave that swept over Quebec.
With 101 seats in the House of Commons, and 59 seats from Quebec, it's been a challenging year for the party and its dozens of rookie MPs like Matthew Dube.
The representative for Chambly-Borduas says the party has grown over the past year.
"Any person from any background from any age, the job is so unique it always poses a challenge," said Dube.
"The feeling we get on the ground definitely tells us we're going in the right direction."
