MONTREAL - Police have set up a command post in Cartierville as they search for a 26-year-old woman who has been missing since Jan. 11.

Clemence Umugwaneza left her Cartierville home to go for a walk at 9:00 p.m. and has not been heard from since.

"My mom just wants her back. She's trying to be strong, but it's killing her from the inside," said Clementine Umugwaneza, Clemence's sister.

She had never disappeared before, was not suicidal, depressed or on drugs, she suffers from anemia.

Family and investigators are perplexed by her disappearance. Police have concentrated their search on the banks of the des Prairies River, walking dogs along the waterfront to find any trace of her. So far, they haven't had any luck.

Clemence is a Rwandan-Canadian, measuring 1.70 metres (5'7") and weighing 90 kilograms (198 lbs).

She sports a mid-length Afro-style haircut and has brown eyes. She was wearing a black tuque with a black coat and black hood when she disappeared.

Anybody wishing to pass along information concerning her file can do so anonymously by calling 911 or by visiting a local police station.

Police have set up the command post at Galeries Normandie, located at 2620 de Salaberry St. So far, they say they have no clues or leads in the case.
